Elf Galaxy Nouveau by wraithdragon Elf Galaxy Nouveau by wraithdragon
Just working on a print for an upcoming convention. I feel that this is still lacking something, and that it needs a bit more work. Not sure what though. Also the colours look really washed out on my laptop, yet look amazing on my Cintiq...... BUT WHICH ONE DO I TRUST!!? D=

Anyway, if I do more work on this I'll update it or something. I'm going to do some A3 sized prints of this.

*EDIT* I updated the image. Seems better now.

Nice, really cool take on that style. But yeah, i had that same experience with colors a couple months back when i switched from a laptop to a desktop pc. Every image i'd ever colored looked completely different and i had to adjust my whole palette in photoshop.

Thanks Brother! You know, after watching so many of your vids, I totally just read your entire comment in your voice in my head. =)

The colour difference between monitors is the constant battle when it comes to art. When I have my printer set up, I'll usually print a proof for the colours, then adjust the colours based on that. I get more consistent results that way. I always hate when I look at my work on different monitors. I feel like I should trust my Cintiq, because you know it's a high priced art tool, so my assumption is that it has to be truer colours than my old ass laptop screen. I bet that if my screen was LED technology, then it would look closer to my Cintiq display.

I've heard that the colors on a Cintiq can be deceptive... trust the laptop! (Advice coming from someone who has never used a Cintiq a day in his life)

I think the biggest difference is how the two screens are lit. My laptop is old, and not an LED LCD screen, so even though I have the colour profiles set the same, but I think that because the screen on my Cintiq is better back lit, that the colours appear brighter.

In all honestly I trust physical print over any screen. =)
I'll probably print it out on my colour laser printer today and then adjust the colours based off of the print. A caveat to this is, if I'm not intending to print a picture though, I don't worry about how it looks in print. But as this _is_ a print, I'm mostly worried about how the print looks.
